Latina Equal Pay Day National Solutions Summit
November 2 @ 8:30 AM - 5:00 PMFREE
November 2 is Latina Equal Pay Day 2017, which marks the day in the calendar year that Latinas have earned as much as white men did in the previous year. Latinas earn an average of just 54 cents to $1 earned by white non-Hispanic male workers. Over the course of a 40 year career, Latinas will be denied an average of a million dollars in earnings because of the gender wage gap.
The Latina Equal Pay National Solutions Summit, Leveling the Playing Field, will bring together community members, advocates, labor leaders, business representatives, and political leaders to shed light on how the wage gap impacts Latinas’ and their families. It will also focus on the solutions and strategies that are necessary to address this problem, including grassroots activism, policy advocacy, union engagement and corporate accountability.
